If you write and drink bourbon (whiskey) then you are in good company. No author married the two past times (professions to some) more proficiently, more passionately and more successfully than Ernest Hemingway. Individually, drinking and writing have their own benefits and each have their own draw backs. However, I know for a fact that my writing is improved by drinking and my drinking is enhanced by writing. Go figure that one out. Although I am quite sure Hemingway would agree with me. So, whether you’re a drinker who enjoys writing (like me) or you’re a writer who enjoys drinking, only Hemingway offers the words we not only understand but the words we write by. See for yourself.
Enough said!
-The Bourboneer
Bourbon enjoyed while writing this article: High West American Prairie Bourbon, 46% ABV or 92 proof (no age statement-NAS) Park City, Utah.

Hemingway never said this. It has been misattributed over the years and there is no primary source one can trace this quote back to.

I am sure that’s very possible. Yet, it certainly sounds like something he said even if not originally. Thanks for the post!
